What's New
----------
Windows resource files are not required for AMS 13.0

The following items have been added to the toolkit:

- The MAP File Maker and MAP File Tester utility has been added to assist in the creation of MAP files
- Procedure updated for creating a .mrg file
- Added information on .fhx, .alm, .alert files.

Software Compatibility Issues
-----------------------------
This toolkit is for use with AMS 13 or higher only. Please
Use the AMS Device Manager tool kit 10.x for version 10.0 to 12.5 of AMS Device Manager

AMS Device Manager 13.0 support HCF tokenizers version 8.x

This toolkit supports all versions of Microsoft Windows
supported by AMS Device Manager. Please refer to the AMS Device Manager Installation Guide
for a list of the versions supported.

Additional Notes
----------------
In order to fully utilize the software provided in this
toolkit, you should have AMS Device Manager version 13.0 or higher.

Further note that the tools and techniques provided in this toolkit may alter the
functionality of AMS, and as such, should only be used on
a development system running AMS and NOT on a production
system.

This toolkit provides the information and sample files
you need in order to create a Device Installation Kit for your
device.

AMS is capable of simulating the basic functions of
any device for which a device description has been
installed. The use of AMS under simulation can be
helpful in developing the AMS interface for a device.
Instructions for simulating devices are available in
the included Developer's Guide.

Installation Issues
-------------------
To install the toolkit sample files, double click the zip file and extract to <drive>:\AMSTK13. To use MapFileTester, the MapFileTester.dll must be moved to <drive>:\AMS\bin.

Note: Adobe Acrobat will not be installed with this
installation. It is available on the Adobe website.

What's in the Toolkit
---------------------
The AMS Toolkit for HART Device Developers contains
the sample files you need in order to integrate
your device into AMS Device Manager. The software is organized as follows:

AMSTk13
The default root directory where the
	toolkit is loaded.

AMSTk13\MapFiles\MapFile_Install_Instructions.txt
A file to help you load the appropriate Map File
Tools for your targeted versions of AMS Device Manager.

AMSTk13\MapFiles\Map File Manual & Spec.pdf
Describes the Map File Template which
Helps device developers create map files.

AMSTk13\MapFiles\MapFileTester
The set of files you need to use MapFile Maker
And Map File Tester on your targeted version of AMS Device
       Manager.

AMSTk13\src\devices\hrtsim00.dat
The simulator file you will use to
specify the devices you wish AMS to
	simulate

AMSTk13\src\devices\ddinstal.ini
The sample installation script you will
need when you are ready to create an
	Installation Kit for your device.

AMSTk13\src\devices\000026\0006
The directory contains the tokenized output
samples for the 3051cr23 device, the
DLL for the 3051cr23, The 3051cr23 is an example
of a simple, single mode device. Note
that the tokenizer output files are of
the form device revision-dd revision. The
actual binary output from the tokenizer for
this device is the 0203.fms file. The
symbol file output for this file is
0203.sym. The table file for this device
is 3051cr23.tbl. The MAP file for this
        device is 0203.map.
AMSTk13\src\devices\00002e\0015
The directory contains the tokenized output
samples for the 3081C (2e150101) device,
the DLL for the 3081C, The 3051cr23 is an example
of a complex, multi-mode, mapable dynamic
variables device. The MAP file for this
        device is 0101.map.

AMSTk13\src\devices\0000fc\00fc
The directory contains the tokenized output
samples for the dproto device, the
DLL for the dproto. In addition to
the tokenizer files, also included here
is an empty merge file, dproto.mrg. This
file can be used initially in Installation
Kit testing. Creation of a full merge file,
as described in the toolkit documentation,
is required to complete the Installation
Kit, however. A blank MAP file template has
been included in this directory, called
        0101.map.
